Perry Ellis International has announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Falic Fashion Group to create, manufacture and distribute men’s and women’s fragrances under the Original Penguin by Munsingwear brand.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to extend the Original Penguin by Munsingwear brand to fragrances, an area where we believe Falic Group can create new products to attract a younger consumer and increase the lifestyle attraction of the brand,” comments Oscar Feldenkreis, president and chief operating officer of Perry Ellis International.

The agreement encompasses men’s and women’s fragrances for distribution in the Americas, Europe, India and the Middle East. Initially, the men’s fragrance will launch in early 2011 in the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as at 23 Original Penguin stores around the world. The women’s fragrance will follow shortly thereafter.

“The Original Penguin by Munsingwear brand offers unique style, a devoted following and possesses the necessary qualities to ensure the development of a successful fragrance line,” says Jerome Falic, CEO of Falic Fashion Group. “It offers a perfect fit with our strategy of expanding our brand portfolio.”
